Hey Friends! Today, I am going to share with you a DIY Paper Pennant Banner Tutorial to be used for a party or in your everyday decor! I created this paper banner for extra decor in my daughters’ Cozy Reading Corner. This fun bunting took about about 30 minutes to put together, with most materials I already had on hand (I ran to the dollar store for a hole punch… lol). You may notice these patterns from my Mod Podge Wooden Letters Tutorial. This one pack of scrapbook paper has lasted me several projects and could take on a few more (well worth the $8).

Paper Cutter or Scissors
Cut out your desired pennant and use a hole punch to cut out the small circles. For this tutorial, I used the large triangle in my template. Trace the pennant several times onto a piece of decorative piece of paper. Draw an “X” where the holes should go. Repeat this step if you will be using many sheets of paper. I used 4 pieces of paper from a scrapbook paper pad.
Cut out the pennants with a paper cutter. I have the Fiskars Recycled 12-Inch Bypass Trimmer (bought on Amazon). Having a paper cutter is such a time saver! It’s worth the small investment if you are a crafty person (or you want to be a crafty person). Punch out the “X’s” with a hole punch.
Determine how long you want your bunting and cut the string to that length. String the pendants on. Knot the ends with a loop at the end to hang
You may now decorate your banner or just hang it! I used clear mini Command hooks to hang this banner!
These buntings are super customizable and easy to make! I have this banner hanging in my girls’ reading corner. It’s so adorable and matches their colorful decor perfectly! I cannot wait to make more banners to match my seasonal decor.
I hope this tutorial was easy to follow and helps you personalize your space in a fresh and creative way! Please feel free to reach out with any questions or comments. I love hearing from you all!
