DIY Grapevine Ornament Wreath

December 14, 2015 by Sarah

DIY Grapevine Ornament Wreath

Happy Tuesday, friends! I cannot believe Christmas is around the corner. I am still trying to get my house decorated! It has been especially hard this year with two little ones trailing behind me. However, it has really been a blessing to see Maddy’s little face light up with excitement at all of the lights and decorations. They make it all worth while!

After a run to Dollar Tree, I was super inspired to make this “pinspired” DIY Grapevine Ornament Wreath! I love how customizable it is. You can literally make this wreath to match with any color scheme. Also, I made this wreath in less than 30 min and for under $8. I am in LOVE! Lol!

Let’s get to the reason you’re here:

DIY Grapevine Ornament Wreath

Wreath Supplies

  1. Grapevine Wreath- Hobby Lobby $2.49 (originally $4.99)
  2. Jute twine (left over)- Walmart
  3. 2 Floral “berries”- Dollar Tree
  4. Ornaments (medium and small)- Dollar Tree
  5. Glue gun and glue sticks
*cute toddler not necessary (but helpful… lol)

Procedure

Step 1: Make a hanger

Step 1- Ornament WreathTo make your hanger, cut a piece of jute twine and tie it in a knot. Trim the tails of the twine (not too short). Loop the string around the wreath and pull.

Step 2: Place your “berries”

Step 2- Ornament Wreath

I just cut the stems off to make a few individual stems that would be easy to poke through the wreath form. Once you have your stems separated, wiggle them through the form until you have them in your desired position. Glue the stems in place with your trusty hot glue gun.

Step 3: Glue ornaments

Step 3- Ornament Wreath Step 3- Ornament Wreath2

Glue the ornaments on– alternating sizes and colors. Start at the intersection of your “berries” with a medium sized ornament. Then, place a small ornament next to it to fill any gaps. Keep going down until you have reached a couple of inches below the bottom (middle) part of the wreath.

Step 4- Place the last “berries” and fill gaps

Step 5- Ornament Wreath

Place the berries just as you did in step 1. The berries seemed to be particularly unruly this time, so I had to bend them until they stayed in a desirable location. Glue them to each other and the wreath form. Then take notice of any gaps. I had a huge gap towards the bottom. Glue a little ornament to fill.

Step 5- Hang and admire!

This wreath is great for any door and you can customize the size and color based on your needs! Comment below if you have any questions while making! And don’t forget to pin it to save for later!

Until next time…

[…] I decided to put this gorgeous wreath on the front closet door. I love how it ties in with the silver and golds on Christmas tree in the front room. You can find a tutorial on how to make this wreath here. […]
